Gaza is a Palestinian coastal city, and the largest city in the Gaza Strip, located in the north of the Strip, at the southern end of the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea. It is one of the most densely populated cities in the world , Israel occupied the Gaza Strip in 1967, the year of the setback that came after the displacement of Palestinians from their homes in 1948, the year of the catastrophe as we call it. The wars and escalations continued between the Palestinian people and the Israeli occupation until the occupation was defeated in 2000 (the Intifada of the Stones) and they left Gaza after they had been defeated there.
